Booking:

All bookings made on the 1st Sea School website booking form still require the appropriate deposit of 25% of the invoice total to be made to 1st Sea School to confirm the booking, we will contact you within 24 hours to arrange payment. The remaining balance is required prior to commencement of training.

Cancellations:

In the event of cancellation 1st Sea School must be notified in writing. The cancellations will be deemed to take effect upon receipt of this notification. In this event the following cancellation charges will apply:

Between 2-4 weeks 50% of the total cost

Between 1-2 weeks 60% of the total cost

Less than 1 week no refund of the total cost

Cancellation By 1st Sea School:

In the unlikely event that 1st Sea School cancels a course due to reasons beyond our control such as a vessel not in service due to damage or mechanical failure or an instructor suddenly taken ill 1st sea School will offer new dates or a refund in the case of a refund only course fees paid to date to 1st Sea School will be refunded. 

1st Sea School will reserve to right to cancel any training or course should it be deemed that students are not complying to 1st sea School operations and safety guidelines, In such cases there will be no refund of fees.

Liability:

1st Sea School at no time accepts liability for personal accidents, damage or loss due to your negligence. Clients must be insured against all such risks (we can advise on this matter). We maintain full insurance cover on our vessels including third party liability. If using one of 1st Sea School's vessels it will be clean and tidy ready for the students arrival. In the unlikely event that 1st Sea School should need to cancel a booking, only pre-paid tuition fees will be refunded.

Unnecessary damage and losses attributed to carelessness on the part of the Client will be charged at a replacement price, fair wear and tear will be taken into consideration. Clients must if using their own vessels insure their vessel for the purpose and duration of the course. Unless informed otherwise 1st Sea School will assume this to be done.

The  Equality Act of 2010, covers such issues as Age, Disability and Gender.

Although we strive to assist all within the above mentioned areas potential clients and / or students are advised to read and complete our fit for course, health Declaration.

Feedback:

At the end of a course, students are invited to complete a feedback form and either hand it in to the instructor or post it to 1st Sea School at a later date.

Complaints Procedure:

If a student on a course at any time feels dissatisfied they should raise the matter immediately with the instructor. Should the student still have reason to be dissatisfied, they should refer to the Principal at the next opportunity, and in any case within 24 hours. If they are unable to inform the Principal within 24 hours, then the student should submit their complaint in writing within seven days to the following address:
