Day Skipper

A skipper needs to be able to navigate and before attending the Day Skipper practical you would be well advised to attend an RYA Day Skipper shorebased theory course.

The practical course gives you a chance to take charge on short passages under instruction, with plenty of advice and help from the instructor.

The instructor can also help you to get the best out of modern electronic aids, such as GPS and radar, which are now virtually standard equipment on modern motor cruisers.

* The Boat Owner is considered to be Skipper at all times, and is required to satisfy Instructors that the Vessel is fully insured.
